I’m not French
My Life in France as an International Student. Now a Foreigner.
When I arrived in Paris for my studies, I experienced firsthand the obstacle course faced by many international students: the stress of visiting housing remotely, the loneliness of the first few days, the maze of administrative procedures, and the emergencies to handle alone, thousands of kilometers away from my family.
After helping and advising many students around me, I realized that these difficulties affected everyone. Now that I have graduated, I continue to live this experience as a foreigner in France: that is why I decided to create this blog.
notfrench. is the survival guide I wish I had when I arrived in Paris. Here, you will find all the keys to decode Parisian life, avoid the pitfalls, and succeed in settling into France. You will find practical advice on housing, procedures, integration, tested tips, and sincere opinions, along with the funny (and not-so-funny) moments of my life as a foreigner. Everything I wish I had known before, during, and after your studies.
But because articles cannot replace a real presence during crucial moments, I take it a step further. I offer international students’ families customized, on-the-ground support: a reliable and caring presence so that students are never alone when facing the unknown, and so that you, as parents, are informed of everything in real-time.
